Banks operate in a complex environment where they not only have to satisfy modern bank management requirements, but also ensure compliance with all the new statutory requirements which are introduced. Several new regulatory frameworks have been established in recent years (Basle II, MaRisk etc.) whose implementation demands the banks' concentrated attention. In the process of complying with these new statutory requirements, however, banks can take advantage of many different opportunities for systematic overall bank risk management. This is provided that they apply an integrated, modular and professional approach - and the appropriate technical infrastructure.
